For 15 years, the LCA Working Group has been focusing its attention on the use of the Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment (LCSA) methodology as a tool to assess the potential environmental impacts of products, processes and services, thus contributing to the strengthening of the relationship between business and the environment and to the creation of new points of contact between industrial competitiveness and environmental protection. Through the analysis of the life cycle, the phases and moments, in which environmental criticalities are most concentrated, are identified. In its various research activities, LCA Working Group also deals with the integration of systems and analytical tools for environmental management (Life Cycle Assessment – LCA), management accounting tools (Life Cycle Costing – LCC), as well as social management tools (Social Life Cycle Assessement – S-LCA). The aim is to support decision-making processes with a greater awareness of the potential environmental, economic and social consequences related to alternative modes of intervention.
